Simple question; ‘What Really is Next For Tommy Langford?’

Pass the crystal ball!! That’s the only way we’re going to stand any chance of fathoming what the heck is going to happen next in Tommy Langford’s boxing career.

Langford held the British Middleweight Championship title for firstly, 84 days after beating Sam Sheedy on 26 November 2016 at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, and then a further 77 days after a UD victory over Jack Arnfield when he defended the title at Manchester Arena on 17th February the following year.

Winning what ‘your boy AC from Eastwick Boxing UK’ described as a 50/50 fight-

-The decorated fighter whose first title came courtesy of a stoppage win in Dublin back in the summer of 2015, was on fire.

But then came Battle of the Baggies – Neutral Ground, Jason Welborn and two split decision defeats.

28th September 2018 saw Langford and his rival Welborn rightfully earn the British Boxing Board of Control’s Contest of the Year Award for their first bout at Walsall Town Hall which took place on 4th May.

…21 Days later Langford signs up to BCB Promotions.

And today, as the Mark Heffron camp prepares to challenge for the British Middleweight Title that Welborn has vacated in favour of taking on Jarret Hurd for his IBF, IBO and WBA ‘Super’ super-welterweight titles, we have to wonder if the Birmingham based Langford will seek to reclaim the British Middleweight title (as some fight fans think he will/should) or continue to aspire to his vision of performing at super middleweight.

MBC HQ admits to being…well, okay, what we said earlier on was an exaggeration, but at least just a little unsure about what will happen next for the #baggiesbomber.

One thing however is for sure – Langford holds a record that any boxer would be proud of (20-3-0) and at just 29 years young and with the new stable behind him he remains firmly in the mix.
