IBIS Style Birmingham Olbury was the host venue as John Nash and Warley ABC were joined at the Warley Boxing Show by a wealth of fine boxers and their trainers who were representing clubs from around the Midlands region and beyond. It was a grand stage for some breakthrough boxers on a 13 Bout fight card that was attractive and intriguing enough to draw in a packed, excited and vociferous audience.
Eleven boxers represented Warley ABC.
Cory, Cayden and Coby Robbins were joined by Oakley Hill, Akiem King, Amaan Ghulam , Rico Cheed, Amrit Singh-Toor, Will Smith, Steve Mackenzie and female boxer Tayla Spooner.

Three boxers, Harry Davies, George Birckett and Stephen Clarke travelled down from the north of England to represent Liverpool’s Rotunda ABC.
Great Wyrley ABC were represented by Lucas Wain and Joey Lockley whilst Worcester City ABC’s representation was made up of Tyler Boyce, Ryan Jones and Alison Sidebottom.
They were also joined by Small Heath ABC’s Haider Ali Khan, Right Stuff ABC’s Charlotte Bowyer, Studio ABC’s Jay Van Gelder, Phoenix Devon’s Aiden Friendship, Donnington’s Brandon Davis, Nechells ABC’s Rayhaan Majid and Thames Valley ABC’s Ellie Harman Rose.
The fight card which included one skills bout and two contests being fought at senior age, took place in front of a packed crowd that included former professional boxer Arv Mitoo who retired in 2005 after having completed 100 professional contests. Mitto was on hand to meet and greet Junior Cadet Midlands Champion Mohammed Hafeez when the talented youngster was invited into the ring by MC Jerry Hjelter.

In the ring it was a night of mixed fortunes for Warley. Four wins and a draw brought both joy and some disappointment . But that’s boxing, and as has been said by so many great trainers, there’s only winning and learning.
Warley’s next show takes place in May so watch this space for further details.
