Errol Johnnson’s BCB Promotion’s chose Walsall Town Hall to stage what turned out to be an exhilarating night of boxing action last Saturday 6th July.

Let’s take a look back at what happened.

Alex Jones vs MJ Hall

4 Rounds – Welterweight bout

Former soldier Alex Jones (left) got his professional career off to a winning start. The Tiverton scrapper picked up a 39-37 victory over Brierley Hill’s MJ Hall to open the show.

Levi Ferguson vs Nathan Hardy

6 Rounds – Super Welterweight bout

Walsall ‘s Levi Ferguson (right) got his second six-rounder in the bag and swerved the potential banana skin that is Nathan Hardy. The former Pleck ABC man edged past Sheffield’s Hardy, a serial upsetter, 58-57.

Lee Glover vs Michael Mooney

4 Rounds – Lightweight Bout

Lee Glover, (right) who himself has only boxed once in the past three years, was back in action elsewhere on the undercard. ‘The Tipton Slasher’ faced ‘Mad Man’ Michael Mooney over four rounds and blew away the cob-webs to record a 39-37 win against the Worcester man who more than played his part.

Troy Coleman vs Owen Jobburn

4 Rounds Super Middleweight Bout

Troy Coleman (left) takes on Owen Jobburn

Back at the venue where he made his debut in September 2018, Troy Coleman stepped up for his fifth professional outing.

Owen Jobburn came into the contest the older and more experienced of the two.

Coleman was looking to maintain his unbeaten record whilst Jobburn was aiming to regain the type of form that had seen him unbeaten in his first five professional bouts.

After 4 pulsating rounds of boxing it was Troy ‘The Hawk’ Coleman who grabbed the victory on points (40 – 36).

Amy Tamlin vs Sonia Klos

4 Rounds Super Bantamweight Bout

Amy Tamlin (left) finds Klos with a solid left.

It may have been just her second professional contest but the dazzling Southam boxer who’d moved up to super bantam after debuting at the lower weight was pulling no punches when she faced off against Poland’s Sonia Klos.

In weight divisions pretty much dominated at the elite levels by South Americans including three Mexicans in the shape of Jackie Nava, Yazmin Rivas and Mariana Juárez, if you want to be a Champion there’s no room for slackness, and Tamlin’s performance made clear her understanding of this as she swept her beleaguered opponent away with an impressive display that secured a well deserved 40 – 36 points win.

Tyler Denny vs Serge Ambomo

8 Rounds Middleweight Bout

Former Midlands Area Middleweight Champion Tyler Denny (left) was on top form against Ambomo

14 Days after England bundled the Indomitable Lionesses out of the FIFA Women’s World Cup it was England v Cameroon all over again when former Midlands Area Middleweight Champion Tyler Denny faced the tough and slippery Serge Ambomo in the night’s headliner event under the bright lights of the ‘Hall of Halls.’

Referee Michael Alexander oversaw proceedings as the battle lasted the full 8 rounds with both boxers giving their pugilistic best.

“I want another title shot now. I’ve given up the Midlands (Area Title) to pursue bigger fights. I’m ready and willing to fight anyone.” Denny said after pounding out an impressive 80 – 72 points victory.
